Andru Dalwyn

Physical Description:
Andru is 6'3", muscular and broad-shouldered. His blond hair is thick and curly, and he wears a trim mustache and an imperial. His eyes are slate-grey, and his lightly freckled face is handsome in a country-boy way. He dresses plainly as a matter of pride, showing his common roots, and wears a long coat of Murandian cut (though it usually hangs open).

Personality:
Somewhat brash and yet friendly, Andru gets on well with most people by sheer force of personality. He is quick to laugh and quick to befriend, but can be just as quick to take offense...and just as quick to get over it. With Mariko he can be over-protective even by Warder standards, and is often surly, gruff, or grumbling when she insists on taking risks. This is not helped by the fact that he is in love with her.

History:
Andru's father was one of the biggest sheep and cattle ranchers in Murandy...and fairly near the Andoran border. Part of his success was Andru, his eldest son and strong right hand, who was always willing to raid across into Andoran territory to pick up fresh stock...or recover what the Andorans had stolen from them. He also "borrowed" prized bulls and rams for stud service on their own herds, then returned them. As a rustler and sheepstealer, Andru's reputation was nearly legendary. He also served as his father's general in any number of small range wars that cropped up, not only with the Andorans but with rival ranchers. A dead shot with a bow, he also knew his way around a fight with staves or fists, and there was hardly a man in Murandy who could take him one on one.
Andru encountered Mariko while she was part of a delegation speaking with Murandian lords, and the two of them struck sparks both hot and fast. He threw his father into a fury by running off with her, and while their ardor cooled, it never died out...and later, began to rekindle as something stronger. He has been Mariko's Warder for nearly eleven years, and her steady lover for five.

Hobbies/Notes:
Andru's most notable hobbies are drinking, dicing, and dancing, all of which he does with equal vigor and style. When not out on the town (where he goes as often as he can persuade his Aes Sedai to allow), his pasttimes include wrestling (he will sometimes go to the yards and wrestle all comers) and smithwork...mostly blacksmithing, but he is a tolerable silversmith as well. He has been known to swipe a few sheep from local farmsteads, as both a prank and a means of keeping up his "old skills".
